Tech Team Lead

Job Description

As the Tech Lead, you will be responsible for the leadership of core java and ops development teams related to the studio’s projects and shared systems, liaising with the directors and producers in order to identify requirements for the seamless operations of the studio and its games.

You’ll be required to display knowledge and experience in technical areas, thus supporting your team members in order to enable them to perform their duties and develop their skills as professionals. You will also nurture a drive to innovate, to keep on enhancing and developing your skills and a keen eye to new technologies and procedures that, once implemented, will improve the studio from technological, usability and performance points of view.

Job Requirements

The responsibilities will include:
- Directly manage, develop and roll out road maps for Server and Operations teams

- Liaise with the CTO to divise the ideal solutions and implement best practices across the development team
- Manage deadlines and deliverables for the projects under your responsibility
- Identify and manage risks to minimise faults and downtime of our games
- Performing detailed analysis of requirements to identify and communicate potential problem areas
- Putting in place early warning systems and disaster recovery processes to ensure continuity of games and the company
- Research technological trends for social games’ operations and production
- Evaluate 3rd party technical products for adoption by the studio
- Strive to build shared and reusable technology across all games
- Deploy coding practices to ensure good quality coding is produced
- Ensuring system architecture delivers to the needs of a game
- Design, develop and implement new architecture of social game technology and implementation

Requirements:
- Java expert!
- Highly experienced with high availability server architecture
- Excellent risk analysis skills, logical thought process and creative problem solving ability

- Experience managing teams
- Experience of NoSQL databases
- Experience of Cloud computing
- Experience of content delivery networks
- Experience with load balancing systems and other common server architectural components
- Capable of end to end development management of the implementation of server systems
- Experience of agile project management methodologies
- Must love playing games
